Sherrill "Sherri" Ann Bock

July 9, 1950 — October 15, 2020

Sherrill Ann “Sherri” Bock, 70, passed away after a courageous battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia on October 15, 2020, surrounded by loving family. Sherri was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 9, 1950. She grew up in Deephaven, Minnesota with her parents and four sisters. She graduated from Minnetonka High School in 1968. After high school, she attended St Cloud State University graduating with a degree in elementary and special education. In college, she met Charles Bock and they married in 1974, divorcing in 1986. She was the mother of two loving children, Jarod and Kelsey who described her as always supportive, loving, and the best listener. She began her special education teaching career in Las Cruces, New Mexico, teaching also in Shelby, Conrad, and for 15 years in Great Falls. After obtaining her Masters in Counseling in 1998, she moved to an elementary school counselor position. In true workaholic form, besides teaching, she was State Treasurer of Council of Exceptional Children, organized the annual Peace Camp for students, and was active in numerous church committees. With all her achievements Sherri’s true love was her children, grandchildren, and extended family, including the kids she taught and counseled.She also loved Jesus and was devoted to her church and friends. Sherri was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lorrayne O’Neill; and sister, Karla Geehan. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Kelsey (Chad Wiebe); son, Jarod (Michelle), grandchildren, Noah and Landon, sisters, Lynda (Paul) Carr, Marleen (Jeff) Smith, and Janice (Ken) Weber; brother-in-law, Tim Geehan; many nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends. A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. at New Hope Lutheran Church (3125 5th Ave S, Great Falls, MT), and can be attended via a live stream on the “New Hope Lutheran GF” Facebook page. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Special Olympics; The AFTD Association (theAFTD.org) or New Hope Lutheran Church (newhopegf.org).
