Shirley J. Jacobsen, 90, of Great Falls, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at First Congregational Church of Christ.Shirley was born on March 30, 1926 in Great Falls, Montana to Arthur and Leda (Wilke) Jardine. She attended schools in Great Falls and graduated from Great Falls High School on D-Day, June 6, 1944 with many classmates leaving to join the armed forces engaged in WWII. She went on to receive a Bachelors Degree in Journalism in 1948 from Stanford University. Shirley worked in advertising in San Francisco, CA from 1948 to 1951 and then as a secretary for Ralph Bricker Realty in Great Falls from 1952 to 1955. She married C. Warren Jacobsen on September 1, 1955 and they were married until his passing on March 30, 2003.She was a member and past president of Jr. League, a founding member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and its first president, and was active in PTA, and Cub Scouts and in the Cascade County Re"public"an Central Committee. Shirley was also a member of First Congregational Church and taught Sunday school there.Shirley enjoyed playing bridge, reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Shirley is survived by her sons, Arthur S. Jacobsen of Great Falls and John W. (Joan) Jacobsen of Billings; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Jacobsen of Great Falls; grandchildren Charlie Jacobsen, Maggie Iverson, Kirsten Howard, Emile Jacobsen and Duncan Jacobsen. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Leda Jardine; husband C. Warren Jacobsen; son William D. Jacobsen; and her sister Ann J.
