Stephen Woody Leo Mason, 64, of Great Falls passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016.A memorial service will be Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Steve was born on September 12, 1951 in Chanute, Illinois to Lyle and Faith (King-Hagen) Mason. He was the oldest of five children and grew up in Great Falls. Steve graduated from Charles M. Russell High School in 1970.He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Paul Burnett.Steve is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marilyn Mason; daughter Cory (Mike) Huber; step-son Donald (Marianne) Loose; brothers Kent (Betsy) Mason of Spokane, WA and Robert (Paula) Mason of Helena; sisters Christine Mason of Tampa, FL and Renee (Lowell) Serfing of Portland, OR; his beloved grandchildren, Caylee and Mason Huber and Noelle and Bryce Loose; many close friends, nieces, and nephews.He loved to fish for Walleye and was on the lake most weekends, either in his boat or on the ice. He also loved to search for that elusive elk up at the family cabin. He was able to enjoy some special fishing expeditions with his brother, cousin, and nephew in Washington.Steve worked a few placed over the years, at the time of his death he worked with his step-son of Matz Construction. He has left his mark on many buildings across central Montana and developed many friendships along the way.He adored his grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews.
