Retired ranchwoman, Tina “Rusty” Simpson passed away peacefully on Jan. 31, 2022. She was born on February 22, 1929, to John and Katharina Wall. Pursuant to her request, there will be no services, but a memorial will be held at the ranch cemetery later this year. Tina had dual citizenship and carried both Canadian and U.S.A. passports. On October 7, 1946, she and Joseph “Bee” Simpson were united in marriage in Chinook, MT. They lived on her father-in-law’s ranch near Wild Horse, Alberta until purchasing a ranch between Simms and Augusta, MT in 1954. Together they raised 4 children, and she continued ranching there for 60 years. Her Christian faith was a quiet example of how to live with a positive attitude even through fire, floods, and loss of lives. Tina was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; her husband; son, Jay Bee Simpson; and 2 great-grandchildren. She is survived by a sister, Ann Barton; brother, George (Mary Ann) Wall; 3 daughters, Zaneta Hirst, Zonda (Pat) Barber, and Zina Coley; 11 much loved grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and even a few great-great-grandkids. In celebration of her life, family and friends are encouraged to attend the annual Ice Breaker Road Race in Great Falls or their community road race as she loved to stay active.In her memory, donors may give to the horse sanctuary or animal shelter of their choice.
