Vance Emil Clinger, Jr. passed away on February 13, 2022, at the age of 79. Vance was born in Missoula, MT to Ardeth Ruth Flechsenhar, and Vance Emil Clinger on December 24, 1942. Vance was the oldest of 3 boys. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad, his brothers, and his uncle, Cye. Vance helped the guys in the family build a log cabin up near Lincoln, MT when he was a kid. He grew up, and went to school, in Cascade, MT. Vance went into the Army right after high school. He received the good conduct medal and the expert rifle medal, as well as national service medals. He was a truck driver in the service and was awarded for good safety driving many times. Vance also worked at the Anaconda Copper Company until they closed.After that, he was an over-the-road truck driver for many years. After he quit driving truck, he worked for United Materials until he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vance and Ardeth; his youngest brother, Lynn Clinger; and his previous wife, Kathy. He is survived by his middle brother, George (Marilyn) Clinger; his faithful and loving best friend, Ying; good friend, Ed; nephews, Bill (Deb) Clinger, and Brad (Jill) Blythe; niece, Ruth (Jay) Tuss; and numerous great-nephews, nieces, and cousins.
