Our mom and most loyal friend passed away November 5, 2020, after fighting a courageous battle with COVID-19. Virginia Eileen Hansen was born on April 26, 1946, in Iowa. She grew up with her parents and ten siblings in Minnesota, where she was first introduced to Harvey Hansen from Belt. They married in 1969, and shared almost 50 years together before his passing in 2017. Together, they raised Todd (Kaleen) and Brandy and adored their two grandchildren, Brooke Hansen and Hunter (Tyler) Denning. Known as “Ginny,” Mom had a generous heart. She delighted in sharing her love through beautiful gifts of any kind, and she was the first person to lend a hand or a dollar to someone in need. She believed in grand gestures, which she generously sprinkled throughout the lives of anyone she knew, cared for, or worried about. She worked hard to make birthdays and Christmas truly magical. She adored Christmas trees all lit up, beautiful flowers in her garden, time spent with her loved ones, lunches with “the girls,” and shopping. She loved to sing, cried when she heard Christian hymns, believed in God, and would have willingly walked through fire for her loved ones. Family and friends were her everything. Ginny is survived by her children; grandchildren; her loyal dog, Sam; best friend, Dawn Simmons; and siblings, Rosemary (Jack) Lester, Norma Miller, Chuck (Mary) Bissett, Wayne Bissett, Jan Hunter, Barb (Terry) Nybo, Steve (JoAnn) Bissett, and Joyce (Brad) Hansen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; parents, Myrtle and Lester Bissett; brother, Jim Bissett; sister, Margaret “Peg” Olson; and in-laws, Gladys and Alfred Hansen. A memorial service will be planned for a future date when the sun is shining, the weather warm, the flowers abloom, and where we can properly honor her for the amazing gift she was to us all. In lieu of flowers, cards may be sent to Todd Hansen in care of Schnider Funeral Home, 1510 13th Street South, Great Falls, 59405.
