Vivian C. DeLeo, 74, of Cascade, passed away October 21, 2016.Vivian Wee was born March 23, 1942 to Margaret and Jack C Mills in Broadus, MT. She had the rare distinction of being born at the old Miss Miller Hospital and Nursing Home. She was also one of the few who went home from the hospital to live in a sheep wagon. Her mother said they got an apple box which she slept in until she was 3 months old. After that the little family bought a ranch on Scott Creek or simply referred to as the creek . All of Vivian's early excursions in life were enjoyed on the creek. Vivian was the first grandchild and great grandchild in the family. She was followed eleven months later by a brother Jack aka Slug. She was later joined by brothers, Steven and Ron and a sister Marilyn. They all attended Boyes County School.Her greatest memories and lifestyle focused around her parents, siblings and ranch. She graduated from Powder River High School and later attended Eastern Montana College in Billings, where she earned her associates in Arts and Education. Upon graduation, she received the opportunity to teach in Troy, Montana where she met her husband of 53 years, Benjamin A DeLeo. Vivian and Ben were married on April 29, 1963. They were the proud parents of six children, Lisa (Rory) Roberson, Mitch (Debbie) DeLeo, Christina (Roger) DeLeo, Shannon (Travis) DeLeo, BJ (Angie) DeLeo and Vianne (Elliot) Holloway.Vivian and Ben purchased a small farm in Cascade in 1977. They were very involved with their large family, the farm, the community and the Catholic Church. Both Ben and Vivian were also active members in the 12 step program where they met many lifelong friends. Vivian had a special place in her heart for children and the less fortunate. She loved reading, ranching and most of all her family. She also enjoyed her coffee, her birds and her quiet time on the farm.Vivian and Ben had 23 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Vivian held various jobs throughout her life including teaching, housekeeping and working with the elderly. She was an all-around straight shooting fourth generation Montana gal. She was loved by many and she returned that love with her whole heart.Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Mills Schmaus and Jack C. Mills; sister Marilyn Wright; loving husband, Benjamin A. DeLeo; and a granddaughter Camilla DeLeo.The vigil will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cascade. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. also at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cascade, MT.
