William “Bill” M. Halko passed on Monday, November 2, 2020. At his request, no funeral services will be held. Cremation has taken place. Bill was born on June 25, 1935, in Great Falls to Michael and Anna Yurek Halko. He attended Red Butte School, Stockett Grade School, and later, Centerville High School. He served four years in the Army, and spent a good portion of that time in Okinawa on electrical generators as an engineer specialist. Bill worked for a period of time for Bison Motors, and later, for several construction companies. He was proud of the fact that he helped build the new high school building in Centerville. Bill also operated the family farm near Eden until his retirement in 2008. He was an avid reader and self-educated on electronics, engineering, auto mechanics, and natural medicine. Bill studied the Holy Bible and shared his knowledge with anyone who was willing to listen. He enjoyed classic country music, and he was known to sing a tune at the senior centers. Bill also participated in the recycling business. Bill is survived by his aunt, Margaret Headington; her son, Gary of Choteau; and numerous cousins in the Halko, Bedosky, and Yurek families. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Edward.
